Radon levels can usually be lowered using a process called mitigation, a term that means to moderate something or make it less severe.
Subslab depressurization
Submembrane depressurization
A suction pipe is inserted through the floor slab into a suction pit dug in the soil underneath.
A high-density polyethylene membrane is glued to the cement footing all around the crawl space and suction is applied under the membrane.
A radon vent fan is connected to the suction pipe
to draw the radon gas from below the house and release it into the outdoor air above the roof. Common fan locations include the house attic, an attached garage or the exterior of the house.
